“clean up wilets point”

i found the documentary “iron triangle” to be very interesting. specially because I live in queens and even been to Wilets point for car repair. I found the quote “clean up Wilets point” to be very deep. I forgot who said it but it was an asian bureaucrat. Its really interesting to see people like him just lie to people’s faces. Obviously they could “clean” up Willets point, rebuilding the roads and literally cleaning the area but the they didn’t. the quote is really about cleaning that neighborhood of the poor to bring in the rich.

I agree with you that this film is very interesting. This documentary film made me feel close to home, literally; I live 2.6 miles from Willets Point. Even though I live close to the area, I never knew the history of Willets Point; after watching this documentary film, it really opened my knowledge regarding what happened, and the people that lived there. Also, learned a lot about the government, and the industry relating to the situation that happened. Found this documentary film very knowledgeable, it tackled a worldwide issue, and gave the audience an inside look of what’s happening to the other half of us; I had a good time watching this till the end. This film took place in a neighborhood near Flushing and Corona, Queens, known as Willets Point. It is well known for being close to the Willets Point-Shea Stadium subway stop on the Flushing Line; right across 126th street from Citifield, the New York Mets’ stadium. It is given the nickname “Iron Triangle,” because the area or perimeter is shaped like a triangle, and a lot of immigrant small business owners runs their automobile repair shops there. They all work together and help each other as a team to make a living. As the people there say, tearing them apart or separating them would make their lives difficult; it would take a toll on them. That’s exactly what the government and industry did to them; empty words and no compassion. It is unjust and saddening. The world needs to be more well informed about the other half, and have more compassion. The American dream; the ideal that every United States citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. Is the American dream nothing but a dream?
